Hey you guys, I'm back. (again)

Lots of new things happened:

We bought a new home a few months ago, and even better I have a small home photo studio now. So that means it's time for a new website/portfolio. The website will take some time since I need to find some one who can do this for me.

Also we entered the kitten project from the animal shelter. Giving a temporary home for a few months to homeless mother cats and kittens so they have a nice and safe place to grow up and we help looking for a new home for them. This has been amazing. The hardest part will be the coming goodbye. But at least you're helping animals. And you get to cuddle sweet cats and kittens. <3

Also new concert photography will be coming soon! So yay!

What's new in the magical World of Anvanyaland!

I haz a new job! Yay! Or to be more precise I now have 3 jobs instead of 2.. *facepalm*

No, I'm very, very happy about this, don't get me wrong, it's just that I am very good at making sure I get no sleep, ever. But I believe it's just the curse of every person that's sort of creative.

I got a new job as a studio freelance photographer in Amsterdam! (Diemen actually but that's close enough) So yeah baby! I'll be giving modeling workshops to groups of people and photographing them in this kick ass studio. At the moment I'm still being trained so I can work according to their method and it's awesome! (Took some nice shots last Wednesday)

Also I get to work with extremely fancy camera's, light… everything!! (omg the Nikon D3x is freaking awesome! ) And the people are really sweet (and talented) too. I am sort of in, when will someone wake me up and go "hahaha, just kidding"-mode right now. And when I was shooting a wedding yesterday and someone was asking me if this was just a hobby or if I was a 'real photographer' I got all confused for a second. LOL! (Ohhw, wait, this is my job now.. sort of... HAH!)
But ofcourse since it's freelance I'm not making any money yet while training. It's a good thing I have a few photo assignments on the side.. Still, omg, how is it that some people manage to have this strange and magical thing called 'free time' and 'sleep'. I would love to get some of that as well..
And also... Money where areth thou... 3 jobs and no money, I'm seem to be doing something wrong?? Maybe the part where people seem to forget to pay me..??? (not the new job.. but just.. people... sigh..)

So yeah, I thought I'd share this little news! And in case anyone wonders, I still teach my art-class too, but luckily it's summer holidays so I get to use all that free time to work some on other things…

Anyone else need more sleep?

Concert photography photo book

I have been thinking about selecting some photographs to have a nice book made of my concert photography for quite some time now.
Mostly because when I still shot on film I always had real photographs to look at and put in photo books, but since I started to shoot digital I only printed the ones I needed too when I was still a the art academy, but I rarely made any prints for myself anymore.
So a nice photo book with a selection of my fav concert shots seems like a lot of fun to me.  
The only thing that has stopped me so far is that it’s a shit load of work if you want to do it right, and I hate half work!
SOOOO, that got me thinking. I don’t really think anyone would buy it, but you never know… So I’d thought I’d ask any way! Would anyone besides myself be interested in buying a book of my work?
It would of course contain work that I never placed online and the photo’s would not have my annoying logo and would be of nice quality and size.
But it would cost money, something most deviant art people don’t have.
So yeah, would you buy this book?
And also if I were to make this book, are there any photographs you think HAAAVEEEE to be in there, or is there anything at all that you think should be in the book or I should take into consideration when making this book???
I would really appreciate every opinion on this subject! And any words of encouragement since I sort of need a kick in the head to finally start making this thing!

I have a new subscription, yay.

I can't wait to shoot Tarot next week!
It's gonna be so cool to see some familiar faces, not to mention this band kicks total ass!

Also I’ve been messing around with the idea in my head to start taking one of my old analog SLR cameras (I think my A1) along with me to gigs and start shooting on film again. I’ve got some amazing lenses for them and somehow you just can’t compete with the feel of film…

It would be a bit of getting used to since there is no auto focus on them, haha! But that’s just a nice challenge in a ‘game’ that’s getting a bit familiar.

I'm not giving up on digital, it's nice to shake things up a bit and do this too.
